Even though our struggles are different, it's clear that there are similarities and it is always so helpful to talk to someone else who "gets it". Thank you for your kind words, I don't think I truly deserve them, but it means the world to me that you understand, that you took the time to tell me and that you are thinking of me. Thank you for the prayers, the thoughts and the kind words. Reaching out to (and hearing back from) other people definitely makes the journey easier. I will keep you and your family in my prayers as well. Thank you again!
KristiKristihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14094315937498370553noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6985674233527779934.post-71755636174596529572012-02-02T10:40:14.808-08:002012-02-02T10:40:14.808-08:00Kristi,
I know that it has been many years since...Kristi,

I know that it has been many years since high school and I don't know your family or your personal struggles since. But, what I do know is that even in high school you were intelligent, strong, understanding, but most of all one of the most compassionate people I have ever met! I can only imagine that those characteristics have only grown stronger over the years.

Our son does not have DS, but has extreme and significant issues related to his first three years before we adopted him. I know that my struggle as a mother raising him is frustrating, to say the least, at times. Although I love him and I love what makes him him, it does not always make life easy. I can in many ways relate to the struggles you face and my heart goes out to you!

For what it is worth, I am MORE than proud of you for being the mother of this adorable little boy. You are right, that God gave you Aaron just the way he was supposed to be and God gave Aaron JUST the mom he was suppose to have. It is not always easy and many times I find myself ready to just "have a fit" if you know what I mean. But, God never gives us more than we can truly handle, even if we don't know how we will get through it. There have been many times I have literally just cried my eyes out asking "Why me?”. But, even though we do not always know the answer, He does!

I just wanted to tell you that I was thinking of you and that I am truly impressed at your fortitude. It takes an amazing woman to face the daily struggles that you do and to keep it all together. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

God Bless,

Amanda (Chambers) Hartnessmidnitesky143https://www.blogger.com/profile/08546255208878929745noreply@blogger.com
